Event Details
The City and County of Broomfield in partnership with the Arts, History and Cultural Council and the Denver Botanic Gardens is happy to announce Creative Broomfield’s upcoming exhibit, Alebrijes Iluminados. This exhibit will display three magnificent Alebrijes puppets from Mexico for members of the community to enjoy at the Broomfield Library until March 31, 2023.
Kick off this month-long exhibit by joining Mexican artists Oscar Becerra Mora and Ruben Mica for a morning of alebrijes. Learn about the history of these "whimsical imaginary figures that are created in accordance with Mexican artistic traditions and centuries of imagination," and then decorate your own to take home!
Arrive early to claim a spot - supplies will be provided for the first 50 people who arrive. This program is for ages 5+; children under 12 must be accompanied by actively engaged parents.
Learn more about these artists and their work here, and see them perform live with giant illuminated marionettes at One Book One Broomfield Junior on Sunday, March 5.
This event is free, no registration required, but space is limited.
