Watch a movie on a large screen at the library!
Celebrate Yiddish language and culture with the screening of Michał Waszyński's The Dybbuk. An adaptation of S. Anksy's play of the same name, The Dybbuk tells the story of a young bride possessed by a malicious spirit on the eve of her wedding. The play is considered one of the seminal works of Yiddish theater, and several film historians have called the movie one of the finest films in Yiddish.
This film is presented as part of the Yiddish Book Center's Public Libraries Program, a partnership with the American Library Association. Made possible by the Lilly Endowment, Inc.
