DESCRIPTION:Come explore Broomfield's History at the Broomfield Depot
Museum and Crawford Honey House! The Broomfield Depot and the Crawford H
oney House are two of the oldest extant buildings in Broomfield. Built-in
1909, the Broomfield Depot was the ‘live-in’ train depot for the Color
ado and Southern Railroad. Originally located along 120th Ave. near the gr
ain silos, the Depot has been run as a Museum since it was moved to its cu
rrent location in Zang Spur Park in 1976. The Crawford Honey House dates t
o 1905. It was built by the Crawford family as a place to process honey fr
om their apiary, which housed over 1,000 beehives during its heyday. The H
oney House was renovated in 2022 as an exhibit and programming space and n
ow showcases Broomfield’s agricultural history and the story of beekeepi
ng and the Crawford family.
