Program Description

Event Details

In this two-part series, learn from a book artist how to design wood book covers using Inkscape, tear down paper to build a text block, and bind your journal with the Coptic stitch binding, a bookbinding method that originated in the 2nd century A.D. This sturdy binding will allow your journal to lay flat when open and has an exposed spine showing beautiful braids.

Part 1 of this series is on Wednesday, August 7th: Learn to use Inkscape to design and prepare the covers for the laser cutter.

Part 2 of this series is on Wednesday, August 14th: Prepare the text block pages and finally stitch your journal together.
